Anxiety is a barrier to communicate a speaker. This will eliminate the self-confidence. Communication anxiety is affecting the credibility of a communicator. Although the message is very good and systematic, but without the confidence and credibility, then the communicator will lose influence and audience.
Three principles of speech are to communicate, using voice (paralanguage) and use gestures and signs (the symbols of non-verbal visual).
Many terms used to name the symptoms of anxiety such communication is stage fright, anxiety or performance stress.
Perceived symptoms are rapid heartbeat, palms or back sweating, irregular breathing, dry mouth and difficulty in swallowing. This is a symptom or a natural reaction and how we cope. Fight or flight?
We should be able to control how can we channel the energy into our conversation so that our voice becomes more authoritative and well and our movement into a dynamic and alive.
The causes of communication anxiety are:
1. do not know what to do. Dale Carnegie explained that "doing what you fear to do"
so as not to form self-image that we are notable to speak in public. With such
self-image, self-distrust will arise, because with no confidence will result in
failure. And this self-image worsened.
2. A person experiencing anxiety knowing communication will be noted by others.
Faced with the assessment of other people to be nervous. All fear actually
happens because self perception than what happened in reality.
3. Communication anxiety can happen to anyone. It may even happen to well-known
figures. Short-term method when we have to control the communication of anxiety
at the time (or) before the speech, the first long-term process, the second is
the emergency door.
The first method we must increase our knowledge about rhetorical formulation that includes preparation, and speech. Knowledge rhetoric provide certainty what will be done and how the audience reaction.
Train the rhetoric is by practice. In addition to your knowledge increases, the exercises can increase a person's self confidence.

The best technique to overcome the anxiety symptoms rapid communication is to communicate with the audience at the beginning of the conversation. This may be done by telling funny stories, ask questions or engage the audience in the activities. The focus of the audience also becomes the best way for a speaker or communicator to enjoy the creation of speech events. Some symptoms of anxiety will remain, but relaxation techniques, attention to the audience and good preparation will reduce the level of anxiety.
